He helped me understand what God was really trying to do in creating mankind, He was a special God fearing man,yet not perfect, As we none are.I loved taking early morning rides in the country with him when he let me stay with him. I love nature as he did. i see it as Gods art. I really wish I had paid more attention to what was happening to Him,and spent ,more time with him. I wish I could of given back to him anything near what he gave to me. I love you uncle Ernie!!!!!

I remember Uncle Ernie from the time I was small and he and Aunt June would come to visit. HE always made me laugh and I thought he was the most handsome man I had ever seen, along with all my Uncles.
I went to visit him a couple of years ago on a trip home and he was still full of the King spirit and humour. We talked about my love of golfing and he gave me a "hillbilly golf club" carved out of wood, which I still have and which makes me smile when I look at it.
His memory will always be cherished to me and the laughter he could bring about by his spirited nature.
I know how hard it is to lose a brother, my heart and my love is with all my Aunts and Uncles. I love you each very much and cherish you all.

I didn't know Earnest very well and the last time I remember talking with him was when my mom and I visited him at his home outside of Georgetown a couple years ago. I remember when I was serving my first year in the Navy and I was living in San Diego and my mom kept coaxing me to call him to meet up with him and I felt like I would be imposing so I didn't.
It was years later that I finally met him and realized he would have been as gracious a host to me as anyone if I would have just called him when I lived in San Diego back then. I was so young and strangers, even family intimidated me.
I wish I could have gotten to know him better because he was a character and had a lot of life experience. We have our service to our great nation in common as well and I value that greatly.
Rest in Peace Earnie, you're missed by so many.
