Elizabeth O. Pratt's Obituary
Elizabeth O. Pratt (Betty), a symbol of kindness and generosity, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025, in Lewes, Delaware. Born on December 26, 1931, in Richmond, Virginia, to the late Carson and Marguerite Overstreet.
A proud graduate of her local high school, Betty was a woman of many talents and boundless energy. Her professional journey led her to become the director of communications at Montgomery Hospital in Maryland, where she impacted many lives through her commitment and care. Betty carried her leadership and compassionate spirit into her service to the community, particularly through her church, where she served as a deacon and an elder. As president of Beebe Hospital Auxiliary, she further demonstrated her natural ability to guide, uplift, and organize.
Betty was the epitome of a devoted wife and mother, always placing her family at the heart of her world. She is survived by her sons, Thomas and Richard Pratt, her cherished five grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren, who will miss her deeply. Her life's tapestry is unfortunately missing her beloved husband, Jere Pratt, her daughter, Lacey Meade, and her parents, whom she now joins in peace.
A lover of entertaining, Betty took joy in creating memories with friends and family, whether it was through her delicious chocolate peanut butter balls, cucumber sandwiches, or simply by offering a comforting presence. Betty will be remembered for her loving kindness, boundless generosity, and the passionate enthusiasm she brought into every room. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
