Doris J. Tana's Obituary
Doris J. Tana, age 78, of Lewes, DE passed away on Friday, November 04, 2016, home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Monday, October 03, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Leonard and Ann (Tomich) DeFontes.
Mrs. Tana was a 1957 graduate of Patterson Park High School and earned a degree in business from Strayer Business School. She was an administrative assistant for many years in the construction industry, and was a co-owner of A to Z Builders. She married the love of her life, Frederick John Tana, on August 22, 1959, and there began their life and family together.
Mrs. Tana enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved traveling, reading, and bird-watching, and was a collector of dolls. Her most cherished times, however, were those spent with her family and her grandchildren, all of whom she adored.
Mrs. Tana is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Frederick J. Tana, of Lewes, DE; her son, John Tana and his wife Brenda, of Lewes, DE; her daughters: Gina Tana, of Havre de Grace, MD, Teresa Borradaile and her husband Tony, of Centerville, MD, and Tasha Tana-Dawson and her husband Chris, of Lewes, DE; and her grandchildren: Amanda, Laura, Anthony, Gabby, John Jr., Nicholas, Ryan, Lauria, and Tara Bella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 08, 2016, at 12:00 PM at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE. A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 08, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
Burial will immediately follow the services at Conley's Chapel (United Methodist) Cemetery, 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes, DE.
The family suggests contributions in Mrs. Tana's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 625 Georgetown, DE 19947.
