Spend time with your grandparents while you can. Life on this earth can be fleeting. I have no regrets and glad I was able to spend time with Gama more in her last few months than I ever before. I witnessed Gama be surrounded by a lot of love from family and caregivers throughout her last few months of life. She had multiple pastors pray over her. Beautiful songs sung to her. Family and earthly angels (CNA caregivers) massaged her legs and feet in scented oils & Positioned her with fluffy pillows often. We often played music and showed her family pictures. My mom often stroked her hair. Me,Gina and Lucille even dyed her hair chocolate brown but turns out everyone likes Gama better w her infamous firey RED hair :) We fed her- By the way, I hope they serve Ice cream in Heaven. Even when eating became a chore and thickening powder had to be added to her foods, Ice Cream still made her smile. Infact she ate all of her icecream birthday cake a little over a month ago! Gama brought so many laughs and smiles to our whole family. I will never forget her "grab bags". The grandchildren got SO excited for those mystery brown bags full of treats!!! I am glad Gama passed on the tradition of making holidays so special to MY mother, as well as her fun bubbly spirit and good looks :) Xoxo always and forever & rest in peace, Gama.
