Donna Marie Smith's Obituary
Donna Marie Smith passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Georgetown, DE, at the age of 57. Born to the late Jerry and Phyllis Smith on February 3, 1968, in West Chester, PA, Donna was known for her strength, resilience, and deep love for her family. She faced her illness with courage and determination, never giving up.
She is survived by her partner, Clifford Copp; daughters Amanda Cordrey (Ryan) and Nicole McCall (Benjamin); brothers Michael, Matthew, and Andrew; and grandchildren Brynlee and Joseph Cordrey, and Parker and Luke McCall. Her fifth grandchild is expected in October 2025. She is also survived by a number of sisters-in-law, cousins, aunts, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Steven.
Donna worked for 20 years as a paraprofessional at the Sussex Consortium, where she supported students with autism with compassion and patience. After moving to Delaware in 1995, she built a life centered on family and service. She especially loved being a grandmother and spending quiet time at the beach. Her grandchildren adored her and shared a deep, joyful bond with her that will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
