Donald Marino Jr.'s Obituary
Donald "Don" Marino, Jr., passed away on December 14, 2023, in Lewes, DE after a courageous battle with diabetes and kidney disease. Born on July 22, 1954, in Annapolis, MD, son of Theresa May Marino and the late Donald Marino.
Don was a proud graduate of Overlea Sr High School and furthered his education at Essex Community College. These experiences laid the foundation for a successful career and an active role in his community. As an entrepreneur, Don was a beloved restaurant owner who brought people together with good food and great atmospheres. In addition to his business acumen, Don was also a talented DJ, his love for music turning every event he hosted into an unforgettable experience.
Don's interests were as diverse as his skills. A lover of Jeopardy, he was known for his quick wit and encyclopedic knowledge of trivia. His enthusiasm for American politics kept him engaged in spirited discussions and always informed on current events. Furthermore, he channeled his competitive spirit into softball, where he was both a formidable player and a respected teammate. Don enjoyed listing to audiobooks daily and would often listen to any type of book he could get his hands on. Above all, Don cherished time spent with his family and friends. His absence will be felt deeply by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Don is survived by his mother, Theresa May Marino; his daughters, Shannon Bettleyon (Matt) and Kaitlyn Rosado (Christian); his 4 grandchildren: Sylas, Scarlett, Camden, and Jaylen; his siblings: Diane Hubbel (Jim Rezek) and Darlene Miglioretti (Frank); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Marino, Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Ursulas Church, 8801 Harford Rd., Baltimore, MD 21234.
