Many years of softball with and against him. Great friend, teammate and competitor. Will miss him!
I met Donnie on our first day at Overlea High School during sophomore year. We sat next to each other in home room and became great friends immediately. Before moving to Rosedale, Donnie attended a Catholic high school (I believe Archbishop Curley High School) and really didn't know a lot of people in the area. I introduced Donnie to several of my friends and we hung out a lot together. I started to have a crush on him and invited him over to my house to listen to music. I remember him bringing over music from the Supremes and Beatles. All of a sudden, my sister walked down the stairs and Donnie was mesmerized. He asked me if she was dating anyone. (So much for my crush). They dated for the next few years and our family was blessed to know and appreciated Donnie.
We are going to miss you so much Donnie. Thank you for being a part of our lives.
Donnie and I knew each other since we were 10 years old and playing little league baseball. We lived in the same neighborhood and would play records in each other's basement.
Donnie became a dj and so did I.
I have so many memories from growing up together and going through school and all our lives.
I am so thankful we were able to talk several times
About our memories. God has prepared a place for him now and we know he's in a good place.
I will miss him
RIP my friend.
I've been Don's brother in law for nearly 40 years. I was always amazed at the his knowledge of local community on the eastern and western shores. If I ever needed to know anything, I knew who to ask. . His friends and family were everything to him. We will miss him.
Donnie was a life long best friend ever since we met at Overlea High School in 1969. I will truly miss talking about politics, friends, family and sports with him for hours. He was a good softball player that always put the team first. During his last year, I could not believe how he kept his spirits up in the face of all his medical problems. Donnie had a great sense of humor. He is one of the strongest men I have ever known and am proud to have been his friend.
I feel blessed to have had Donnie in my life.
Love, Dave & Joy Hartzell
