Diana Jeanne Schoenbeck's Obituary
Diana Jeanne Schoenbeck, age 66 of Magnolia, DE, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home. She was born on October 7, 1954 in Radford, VA, daughter of the late Kenneth and Myra Worley.
Diana earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Psychology. She proudly served for 10 years as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force, from which she medically retired as a SSGT. She also worked as child protection treatment worker and child advocate for many years.
On May 12, 1979, she married her love, Thomas Schoenbeck, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Diana loved to paint and working in her garage, tinkering around with new projects. An avid gardener, she started at an early age with her mom. She was known as a political activist for the underdog and underserved. Diana enjoyed using her drone for photography, walking the grounds at Longwood Gardens, and traveling to new locations and site seeing. She also enjoyed thought provoking movies, loved Broadway Theater, and live concerts.
Diana thoroughly enjoyed having family and friends over for dinner and all holidays were the highlight of her days. She was also a member of the local Red Hats Association and former treasurer of the Harrington Lyons Club. Her main hobby was life and people. Diana would do anything to embrace and foster both.
In addition to her parents, Diana was preceded in death by her sisters: Eleanor Worley and Margaret Moore; and her brothers: William and Christopher Worley. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Thomas Patrick Schoenbeck; her son, Anthony Michael Schoenbeck (Anita); her grandsons: Patrick and Johnathan; her granddaughters: Samantha and Tavia; her brother, Ronald Worley (Tina); her sisters: Mary Wright (Bob), and Patricia Gardner (Rob); her sisters-in-law: Maryalice Schoenbeck, Patricia Schoenbeck, and Linda Schoenbeck; her brothers-in-law: Dennis Schoenbeck, David Quinn (Margie), and Barry Moore; her nieces and nephews: Christine, Kaitlynn, Kelly, Justin, Audette, Myra, Joy, Sabrina, Barry Jr, Angela, Bree, Robert, Christopher, Danielle, Robert, James, Sean, and Chenin Quinn; and several cousins; and her closest and very dearest friends: Patti and Bill Bogetti, and Bill Lucks.
