Dr. Dean Alexander Schofield's Obituary
A great man passed today, March 17, 2016, Dr. Dean Alexander Schofield. He was a Cedar Cliff high school grad, Keene State College under grad, Masters from Western University and PhD from University of Virginia. With all this education, he was "outside the system" with innate knowledge of the human condition and laid back attitude...Poet, Artist, Hiker, Backpacker, Wanderer, Class 5 Rapids champion, and laureate bonfire builder being just a few of his greatest skills. A member of the old soul club, he will be missed by many.
And what he personally considered his greatest achievement, his lovely daughter, Lauren. And we all agree. As a West Chester University Professor, he would be in full professor-wear with moth-bitten sports coat and acceptable slacks, and flip flops in the dead of winter. He always marched to a different drummer.
Beloved father and teacher, he is survived by and will be sadly missed by his daughter, Lauren E. Schofield (Charlotte, NC), Brother, T. David Schofield, Jr. (Kane'ohe, HI), and mother, Patricia M. Schofield (Lewes, DE).
Funeral arrangements will be private with a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Association for Retarded Citizens, 1825 K Street, NW, Suite 1200, Washington, DC 20006.
