I was stunned to read today in a PC magazine that David had passed away! My condolences at David's passing. I knew David while we were at Penn Charter. Well, we never really spoke to each other, but I recognized his talents back then.

To David's family,
I have fond memories of working with David during my time at the Federal Communications Commission. He was such a good natured person and a highly effective professional member of the FCC staff.
May he rest in peace,

Mary Ann, Alexander, Benjamin and families,
We are very sorry to hear of the recent passing of David.
We were close friends during the late sixties and early seventies when the Fiskes lived on Capitol Hill We celebrated birthdays, holidays and other occasions at the Fiske apartment on 2nd Street SE. The Fiskes were generous hosts for all of the neighborhood gatherings.
We remember staying at the Fiske cabin in the South Mountains of Pennsylvania where we talked and laughed and hiked and ate wonderful meals prepared by our hosts. David introduced us to hiking by leading us on the Appalachian Trail near the cabin.
We remember Willie and David building a fence after the Fiskes purchased their first house on Capitol Hill.
After we all ended up moving to Northwest DC, we enjoyed catching up with David when we encountered him on our walks in Chevy Chase where David regaled us with stories about Mary Ann and his sons...
Sadly, David, a wonderful and peaceful soul, is gone far too soon. May he rest in peace.

To the Fiske Family and friends: My condolences at David's passing. I got to know David in the mid-1980's when he was the chief spokesman at the FCC and I was working for a radio trade newsletter. He was always helpful, professional and funny. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Mary Ann, Zan and Ben,
I look at this picture and it brings to mind the optimistic and smiling David. He was a gem and made our lives better. We will remember his shoulder shrug after telling him his shirt had seen better days, his car was a mess or his justification for saving the rusty broken shovel! The stories of David and his numerous shrugs or laughs over his clothes, compulsive lists for the things in the freezer, etc. are what will help you with your grief. I loved him as your husband, father and a most excellent brother in law. Carolyn
To the Fiske Family and friends: Heartfelt condolences on the passing of David. I got to know David first when I worked as a DC reporter for Variety, and then when I became spokesman for the National Association of Broadcasters. David was the head spokesman for the FCC at the time. We had quite a few lunches and adult beverages over the years, where we shared off-the-record stories about the challenging life of the PR professional.
David always spoke kindly of his family. If I recall correctly, David told me that one of his sons worked for the company then known as Airborne Express, which handled the Technicolor Account when films were delivered in cannisters to movie theaters each Thursday night before Friday film openings. The reason I remember this is that my sister Marilyn handled the Technicolor account for Airborne Express at the time. Small world.
David was a class act individual, a superb human being, and a tremendous public servant. He served journalists and his bosses at the Federal Communications Commission very well. Godspeed to all of you as you remember him fondly.
