Charles "Charlie" F. Daly, formally of South Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Tuesday June 21, 2016 at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was the son of the late Charles Daly and Edith Daly Bernero (Hooven). He was a graduate of Read Obituary

It was a privilege to know Charlie. His enthusiasm for helping others, his joy of life and love of his wife and family were outstanding. His community and indeed the entire State of Delaware is diminished by his loss.

Sending my deepest sympathies to all of you. I know this is such a difficult time for everyone. I will always remember the good times with Charlie and your family. There was never a dull moment, such good times and always laughter. I will never forget how Charlie handled my Mother...she always gave him a hard time and I can see his face...shaking his head and just laughing! Your home was always welcoming and open to everyone. Thank you for the fond memories...I hold them close to my heart. I think there is a crowd of three causing a ruckus in heaven right now...Bootsy, Uncle Bernie and now Charlie. I hope you find comfort in knowing that Charlie will always be with you.

Dear Kate and family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. Charlie was a good man like my father, Bernie, who also left us too soon and quite unexpectedly. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of being in your home watching the Flyers game and staying out very late on school nights when the Flyers were in the play-offs.Charlie was so nice to my brother and me. He always spent a lot time talking to us and giving us soda when he knew we were not allowed to drink it! We even watched our first "R" rated movie at your home because you had cable and the adults were partying at the table and not paying attention to what we were doing!! Charlie was also my Confirmation Sponsor. I was so proud to have him standing next to me in Church because he looked so handsome and was so happy to be there!
I will continue to cherish those memories. Your strong friendship with my parents and the rest of the "gang" are admirable and rare. Kate, I will keep you close in my thoughts during this difficult time. Charlie will be sorely missed but left an indelible mark on everyone.

Charlie it's your brother George. I have you on my voicemail and every time you called me you would say "George it's your brother Charlie" that's about it. I am so glad that we connected again and developed a good relationship. I know that we both had a great deal of respect for each other. I always remember having a place to go on Sundays and you always had an open house where we all would have a great dinner a lots of fun. Yea we would laugh and joke and I always felt welcomed. We can never go back, but I am happy that you and I were close in recent time. I was glad we could help other people as a team. We had a situation going on at the time you died and I promise I will continue to find justice in what we were doing for another. I know you just turned 80 and every time we talked I heard a young guy talking back because you had a good mind even at 80 years old. I am gonna miss you and I wish we had more time to spend together. I know you and Kate were together so long that every time I think of the name Charlie, Kate is the next name I say. Kate I am sorry that all of us couldn't get to the RED LOBSTER and have that birthday meal with Charlie. You and Charlie were so long together that I used to joke and say 'I don't stay married for 60 months let alone you two 60 some years. We always got a laugh out of that one. GOD bless your soul Chas. I am glad you are my brother.
Charley was a good man, and a great member of the community. He will be missed by a lot of people.
