Catherine B. Hawthorne's Obituary
Catherine B. Hawthorne, 85, of Greenwood, Delaware passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware. She was born March 11, 1926 in Derry, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joseph and Anne Wagner.
From 1960-1980 Mrs. Hawthorne and her husband Davison B. Hawthorne owned and operated Hawthorne House Antiques in Salisbury, Maryland. She also owned and operated Sandpiper Clothing Store in Salisbury during the 1970's. During Mrs. Hawthorne's lifetime she became an authority on antique coverlets and wrote a considerable database for St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. She was also very knowledgeable about glassware of many types. Her involvement with Poplar Hill Mansion in Salisbury and as a resource on many occasions for the Winterthur Museum brought her much satisfaction during her lifetime.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Davison B. Hawthorne.
