Mrs. Brandenberger was my fourth grade teacher at Greenstreet Elementary, Claymont Delaware 1969 to 1970. I have never forgotten her. For those considering teaching as a profession or those who currently are teaching I just want to say you may never know, or might find out forty five years later, the enormous impact you have on the lives of young people. Perhaps someday, someone might "Google" your name and thank you belatedly for your devotion for teaching, as I have done tonight. Thank you Mrs. Brandenberger.

Carla,

You were my mentor, my friend and often my confidante. I thought I knew about compassion and caring for our special kids before I met you, but you will never know how much you taught me. I will carry your teachings with me always.

I wanted to speak at your service today. I layed awake last night remembering the times we shared. I had my thoughts together when I fell asleep , but I was unable to speak them outloud at the memorial.

I will always remember what I call "Carlaisms". They were the funny stories you told, usually about the ditsy things you had done. You were so smart and so kind, but sometimes the ditsy side of you just took over.

When I learned that you had died, I thought of you looking down on us and getting your funny story together ready to tell. Who else could find humor, but you!

Rest in peace and I will see you in another life.

My deepest sympathy to family and friends. As a family member, my memory of Carla is that of a beautiful cousin full of energy. I remember her smile and warm personality. Her obituary shows she lead an inspirational life focusing on education. I wish I had had the opportunity to know her more. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.

Kenn and I and daughter Flo have so many fond memories of your family when you lived in Brandywine Hundred. Carla was an inspiration to me because she did everything so well and cheerfully. It was through her that Kenn became involved with UCP. A committment that I am now carrying through. Mutual friends have always kept you in our thoughts throughout the years after your move. Wonderful memories of Carla will carry you all through the coming days.
