Blair Dillon Weitzel's Obituary
Blair Dillon Weitzel, 71, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, passed away on March 29, 2026.
Blair was born on October 26, 1954, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to George and Beryl Weitzel. After the loss of his mother at a young age, his father remarried Phyllis Weitzel, who became a loving stepmother. Together, their blended family—with Blair and his two brothers and Phyllis’s two daughters—grew up in the Severna Park area, creating a dynamic much like a “Brady Bunch” household.
Blair graduated from Severna Park High School, Class of 1972, and went on to attend Fairmont State University, graduating with the Class of 1976.
Blair met the love of his life, Consepcion “Connie” Weitzel, through a close family connection—Connie’s sister, Carmen Schumacher, was married to Blair’s best friend, Jon Schumacher. What began as a simple introduction quickly grew into a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Blair and Connie especially enjoyed traveling, dining out, and spending time with friends together, creating countless cherished memories along the way.
He built a long and respected career in the electrical supply business in the Baltimore area, retiring in December 2024.
A lifelong lover of music, Blair sang and played guitar and performed in many bands over the years. Music was a constant source of joy and connection for him. He also enjoyed golfing and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, always bringing laughter and smiles to their lives.
Blair is survived by his loving wife, Connie; his children, Dillon Weitzel (Ronda Wilburn) and Adriana Weitzel; his grandchildren, Layla and Alex Weitzel, Alena Taylor (Luke Taylor), Robert Ross, and Jonas Skarbek; and his great-grandchildren, Stella and Eva Taylor.
He is also survived by his siblings, Blaine Weitzel (Jeannie Nikoloff-Weitzel), Brian Weitzel (Mary Weitzel), Cynthia DeVeas (Steve DeVeas), and Stacey Weitzel (Margo McLean), along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Blair’s memory will live on in the music he loved, the stories he shared, and the deep love he had for his family. Known for his playful sense of humor, he delighted in teasing everyone and keeping family and friends laughing. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
