Andrew J. Ostroski Jr.'s Obituary
Andrew J. Ostroski, Jr., affectionately known as Andy, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2023, in Milford, DE. He was born on May 14, 1943, in Plattsburgh, NY, son of the late Andrew J. Ostroski, Sr. and Reba Ostroski.
Andy honorably served his country in the US Army and Army Reserves for over 30 years. He built a distinguished career as a dedicated civil servant for the US government, where his wisdom and commitment were greatly valued.
Andy enjoyed coaching his sons' Lewes Little League teams, instilling his love of baseball and sportsmanship in the next generation. He was an avid surf fisherman and spent many happy days at Cape Henlopen and Assateague State Parks with his friends and sons, casting lines into the surf and cherishing the simple pleasures of coastal life.
The rich legacy of Andy's life will be carried on by those who knew him-and many did-as a loving, kind, and wise man. They will remember his zest for life, dedication to his family, service to his country, commitment to his work, and enjoyment of leisure pursuits. Andy's memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Andrew "Drew" J. Ostroski, III. Andy was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sharon, with whom he shared 57 wonderful years of marriage. He will be deeply missed by his family, including his son, Mark C. Ostroski and wife Loretta of Lewes, DE; his daughter-in-law, Janell Ostroski of Middletown, DE; and his cherished grandchildren: Sydney, Jackson, Audrey, and Jake Ostroski.
