Mom Mom will be missed by family, and the many friends she acquired over the years. She always made you feel comfortable, like one of the family- and I truly loved her like a mom. I will always fondly recall our Christmas shopping trips up to Dover in the day, and will especially remember her as a devoted animal lover- feeding those stray cats! Every spring when the Lily of the Valley bloom in my garden, transplanted from her house in Ocean View, I will remember her sweet soul. God Bless, and thank you for many years on this earth! I was trying to locate Lisa, my old college buddy, for years. One day I decided to try calling a "Brittingham" in the phone book in Millville. When Alliene answered, I knew her voice immediately. Who could forget her happy, loving voice! I hadn't seen her or most of her family for probably 40 years, and when I attended her 85th birthday party, I immediately felt at home with them. You Brittinghams are a rare find, and I'm glad I had a chance to reconnect with your Mom before she passed. She was a rare gem and will be sooooo missed! Thanks for including me in your family functions!!
Alliene aka Mom-Mom Satch (a nickname coined by her 2nd eldest granddaughter who loved her dog Satch) was a feisty, smart and caring woman. She loved to laugh and gossip, was passionate about sports, listened with tremendous empathy, and gave fantastic advice. She was incredibly sociable and friendly: a trip to the grocery store for a few items turned into an hour because everyone stopped to say hello and chat with her. She was outgoing and loved to play matchmaker, arranging friendships and connecting folks with similar interests. She could talk on the phone for hours and shop until she dropped and always wanted the very best for everyone she ever knew and loved. She is incredibly missed!
To all the Brittingham Family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. What an amazing and kind person your Mom was. I have fond memories of her, with that endless energy , and she was always kind to us Blanch kids. I think our Moms were friends too and spent time hanging out at the pool watching all of us. You were so blessed to have her in your lives for so long but I hope it brings you comfort to know you will have her love forever. What a special woman. I am sending a hug since I won't make the services and may your wonderful Mom always be an inspiration to you as my wonderful Mom has been to me. We are truly blessed for being children of great ladies.

I grew up on 35th Street in Wilmington and have many fond memories of Alliene, Frank and Gassers Pharmacy. In fact, when my mother was expecting my youngest sister, she considered the name "Alliene" In the Jewish tradition, we name after a deceased loved one, at least the first initial. My sister, was named Abbe (after Abe) middle name Ilene. My condolences to all of you.
When I saw the photo today, I remember as a youth working at Wilmington trust. We, the proof department , would go to the Copper Kettle and have our dinner break, or if we finished before close we could all sit and enjoy each other. So many

Our beautiful Aunt Alliene was a kind and gentle woman. Smart, articulate and beautiful who was a good mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be missed. May we all keep her memory alive with our fondest thoughts. We love you, Aunt Alliene.
