Albert "Chip" Gibson's Obituary
Albert "Chip" Gibson passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by those he loved. He was born January 17, 1949 in Washington, DC, son of the late Albert C. and Anna (Tafuri) Gibson.
Chip relocated from the DC area to Rehoboth Beach some 25 years ago where he owned and operated Peter Rabbit Health Food Store. During this time he attended night school and became a registered nurse. After selling the store, Chip started A.C. Gibson Research, a title search company, that he operated until the time of his death. Chip was an avid reader, an amateur radio enthusiast, a science fiction fan and a Washington Redskins fan. He wrote health related articles for local papers and authored several novels.
He is survived by his son Matthew Gibson of Rehoboth Beach; his sister, Susan Gibson of Georgetown; his life partner, Susan Cassidy with whom he lived and her children, Johnathan March and Katrinka Housley both of Georgetown, Andrew Cassidy and his wife Hannah of Millsboro; her parents, James and Jane Cassidy of Millsboro, and her brother Jim Cassidy of Lewes; as well as a huge number of friends and his co-workers at the Recorder of Deeds Office in Sussex County.
At Chip's request there will be no service. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, Christiana Care Health System, PO Box 1668, Wilmington, DE 19899
