Albert Charles Derickson Sr. age 79 of Milton, DE passed away suddenly on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at his Residence. He was born on December 2, 1940 in Frankford, DE, son of the late Robert Stephen Derickson and Hilda Calhoun Marvel.
Mr. Derickson was a well-known professional photographer in the lower shore area for many years. Prior to that he was employed by Beebe Medical Center for 17 years.
Mr. Derickson was very active with St Jude the Apostle Church. He was head of the lector ministries, active with the Knights of Columbus and longtime Adora. He was especially passionate and devoted to leading a weekly rosary before mass for the Right to Life and end of abortion.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emily Truitt Derickson; his son Albert Charles Derickson, Jr. “Chuck” (Virginia) of Millsboro, DE; his daughter, Emily Celina McHugh (James) of Milton, DE; four grandchildren, David, Robert, Michael and Chelsea; seven great grandchildren, Nathan, Alex, Sarah, Tatum, Alyssa, Abby, and Wynter; and his step mother Beatrice T. Derickson of Seaford, DE.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where a viewing will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the services at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE.
