Zelma N. Kennedy's Obituary
Zelma N. Kennedy, age 78, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at Cadbury At Lewes. She was born May 10, 1931 in Elkton, MD, daughter of the late Morris Leroy Nelson and Irene (Harmon) Warren.
Mrs. Kennedy graduated from Wilmington High School in 1948. She was employed as a secretary by the DuPont Company, Corp. Headquarters, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed world wide travel and was an avid bridge player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John J. Kennedy (1991) and her daughter Patricia Whittington (2008) She is survived by 2 sons, Stephen P. Kennedy of Wilmington, DE and J. Michael Kennedy of Lewes; 3 grandchildren, Bryan Whittington, Kelly Whittington, and Stephen Kennedy; and one great-grandchild Arianna Kennedy.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2009, 10:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery near Angola, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, 801 Roeder Road, Ste. 400, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
