Wilma Sandra Irwin Trias' Obituary
Wilma Sandra Irwin Trias, 91, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 11, 2026.
Born on July 21, 1934, in Wellsboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Laura Irwin. Wilma previously resided in Ormond Beach, FL, before settling in Delaware.
Wilma earned her master’s degree in nursing and dedicated most of her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse. She was deeply compassionate and found great fulfillment helping those in need, both professionally and as a hospital volunteer.
On August 9, 1958, she married James J. Trias in Elkland. Together they built a loving family and shared many cherished years together until his passing.
Wilma enjoyed gardening, sewing, puzzles, and volunteering. She will be remembered for her kindness, caring spirit, and devotion to her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, James John Trias; and her sisters, Ellen Mitterer and Dorothy Mistifer.
She is survived by her children: Susan Eaton and her husband Michael of Ocean View, DE; Sandra Bonagura and her husband Anthony of Bethel, CT; James Trias and his wife Judy of North Wales, PA; Sharlene Ransford and her husband Michael of Pittsford, NY; and Tad Trias of Severna Park, MD.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Jennifer Eaton and her husband Michael of Carmel, NY; Matthew Eaton of Beacon, NY; Anthony Bonagura of Jersey City, NJ; William Bonagura and his wife Kacey of Feura Bush, NY; Tori Bonagura and Shovan Bhatta of Brooklyn, NY; Danielle Trias of Philadelphia, PA; Alex Trias of Philadelphia, PA; Jason Trias of North Wales, PA; Shea Ransford of Seattle, WA; Patrick Ransford and his wife Hyun Ji of San Francisco, CA; Casey Ransford and his wife Marissa of Rochester, NY; and Dylan Trias of Severna Park, MD.
Wilma was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Carelton and Chloe Burgaleta of Carmel, NY; Adeline Bonagura and Bridget Bonagura of Feura Bush, NY.
She is additionally survived by her sister, Roberta Butler of North Charleston, SC.
