Willis Finley Groome's Obituary
On September third Willis Finley Groome passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 62 years, Mary, by his side.
Will was born and grew up in Newport, DE. He also lived in the Wilmington area for another 25 years and was recently residing in Lewes, DE for 20 years. Will was a 1949 engineering graduate of the University of Delaware. He was an employee of Scott Paper in PA for 25 years as a Research & Development Engineer. In his retired years he volunteered for Casa San Francisco in Milton.
Will enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, bowling, writing poems, music and was a master at crossword puzzles and Scrabble.
Will was predeceased by his son Robert D. Groorne and his daughter Cathleen A. Terczak.
Will is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Marie Potter, husband Tom and grandson Nicholas; his son Michael and wife Michele and grandson Logan; his daughter Barbara Binney and Bill; his son David and wife Sharon and grandchildren Jamie and Sarah and great grandchild Renee Hrycek; and his daughter Dolores Strouss and husband David and granddaughter Lisa.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Sept. 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM, at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit after 10 AM. Burial will be private.
