William "Bill" Wright's Obituary
William "Bill" E. Wright, 64, longtime resident of Dewey Beach and recently Kings Creek in Rehoboth Beach, passed away Monday, April 16 at his residence. Born on October 22, 1942, he was the son of Superior Court Judge Caleb and Katherine McAfee Wright.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wright, and his three children, Andrew Wright, Joanna White, Tory Wright; his brothers Thomas and Scott Wright and sister Victoria Wright; grandchildren Madison and Emily Wright, Caleb White and Eloise White-Ramon.
Bill graduated from the University of Delaware and obtained his doctor of law from the University of North Carolina. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and returned to work as a prosecutor in the Wilmington Attorney General's Office. He was part of the law firm of Terry, Terry, Spence and Wright and later became a sole practitioner when partner Max Terry was appointed to the bench as a Judge. He practiced law locally and was the first Town attorney for the Town of Dewey Beach when it was incorporated in 1981. In addition to being active in local affairs, he is a past president of the Dewey Beach Lions Club and was the Treasurer for the Bill Lee for Governor Campaign.
Bill enjoyed boating, spending time with his wife Pat, and their many friends. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren and will be remembered for his humor and honesty. He will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Bill's Life will be announced at a later date.
