William F. Wilson's Obituary
William "Bill" F. Wilson, age 84, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at his home. Bill was born February 11, 1923 in Delphi, IN. son of the late Jay Wilson and Lillian M. (Bever) Wilson Wray.
Bill was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a tank commander in the 12th Armored Division retiring after 20 years of service. He retired a second time in 1980 as a rural litter carrier from the Rehoboth Beach Post Office. He also worked part-time as the University of Delaware Virden Center.
He was an elder of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway; a member of the American Legion Post 5; NARFE; AARP; Rural Letter Carrier's Association; and past president of the Rural Letter Carrier's Association.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bill will be remembered most for his love of his family and genuine sense of humor and joy of life. His life will be cherished by many.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Vivian L. (Howard) Wilson whom he was married to for 50 years, a son, Gary L. Wilson and his wife Julie; three daughters, Michelle L. Jennings, Celene A. Johnson and her husband Tony, and Renee D. Bailey and her husband C.J.; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Woltz, Megan Wooldridge, Chrysta Thomas, Brittany Wilson, Brendan Wilson, Leah Wilson, Ayren Johnson and William Jennings; two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Woltz and Averie Jennings. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Lou Patty of Logansport, IN.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 16, 12-1 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE followed by a Memorial Service with military honors will at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church of Midway, 4470 Highway One, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 or to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
