Dear Barbara, Billy and family,
They tell you, as a nurse, that you should never say "I know how you feel" because in reality you really cannot know how anybody feels or how they are trying to cope with the loss of a loved one. However I have been down that road more than one time and I am certain that I will go down it again.
It is a hard road, with many bumps and tears and sleepless nights, remembering your loved one and grieving over them but when they say "time heals all wounds" they are right. It does take time, and lots of it, but that is the hardest part because when the viewing and the funeral are over it is the family that still carries that emptiness around with them day after day.
I hope that your road is not a long one, and that you know that your father, lover and best friend made a difference in this world and touched the hearts of many.....he will be missed. Love to all, Michael Berk
