William A. Watson's Obituary
William A. "Eddie" Watson, age 79 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 2010 at, Cadbury at Lewes. He was born in Washington, DC, on Monday, May 25, 1931, son of the late Ellsworth and Julia (Griffith) Watson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
A resident of Rehoboth since 1990, he was originally from Alexandria VA, where he retired as a manager of the Lafayette Federal Credit Union of Washington, DC after 34 years of service. Mr. Watson proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed aboard the USS Blackwood.
He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, American Legion Post #5 and VFW Post #7447 all of Rehoboth Beach, DE. He loved baseball, especially the Washington Senators, the Redskins and enjoyed gardening for relaxation.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon T. (Blalock) Watson, three sons: Michael O. Watson and Lori of Rehoboth Beach, DE, William A. Watson, Jr and Nadege of Montclair, VA, Gerald C. Watson and Abby of Alexandria, VA, one daughter: Cheryl L. Davis and Russell of Alexandria, VA, one brother: Lawrence Watson of Lady Lakes, FL, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Chapel Committal Service and Entombment will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE, with the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Baker officiating.
