William J. Robertson's Obituary
William John Robertson (Bill) was born on March 28, 1961 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2025.
He moved to Rehoboth in 1982, and through his love of music, discovered The Front Page, where he made life long friends and played his bass during open mic nights. Bill also loved to cook and worked in the restaurant business, where he met the love of his life, Debbie Hudson Robertson. Debbie would often encounter Bill playing music at local hot spots in Rehoboth like Arena's, The Front Page and Sir Guys. Bill wore many hats. After his restaurant career, he was a land surveyor, construction worker, and landscaper. Bill loved baseball, especially the Phillies, and showed his enthusiasm for the sport while coaching his sons, their friends, and many other local kids in Lewes Little League. Bill was very involved with his sons' participation in the Boy Scouts. He was a leader and was acknowledged as a mentor to his son Jonah when Jonah achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. This was was one of Bill's proudest moments as a father. His love for the outdoors was passed down to his boys, teaching them the love of survival and nature. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he often enjoyed sunny days on the pond fishing with his sons and cold winter mornings hunting with them.
Bill is predeceased by his father, Howard Robertson. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie, his three children, Maggie Matlock (Garrett), Job Robertson, and Jonah Robertson, one grandson, Oliver Matlock, his mother, Grace Robertson, his sister, Virginia Robertson, his two brothers, Howard Jr. Robertson and Jimmy Robertson (Cheryl), and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
