I first met Bill when I became a Rotarian in 2014. Bill mentored me how to meet and greet Rotarians and their guests at the font desk as the best way to get to know our fellow members. Every meeting, Bill would lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the 50-50 donations. Whenever, we had a fundraiser such as Flags For Heroes, Bill volunteered to help set up and take down 500 American Flags. Even though most Rotarians retire by age 80, Bill was still an active Rotary member at every meeting in person or Zoom, including his 98th birthday. Our Rotary motto of Service Above Self, was who Bill was. Any chance to help our fellow Lewes Citizens, we could always count on Bill to pitch in. A great man who will be remembered as the embodiment of what a Rotarian is.

I miss my friend “Dr. Bill” very much. His ready smile and great sense of humor always brightened my day. He was ever ready to help sort books for sales at the Lewes Public Library. While we worked together, we would compare notes about our naval service experiences. So sorry for your loss but grateful for the time spent with him. Candace Vessella
First Christmas Eve he and his wife came to my home with “Two Buck Chuck” He always brought a happy light with him. Will misshim dearly.
Oh My! Bill and is lovely wife were dear friends when they lived in Seattle... We were member of the Church of Ascensions in Magnolia. Today, we miss their generation's integrity and devotion to service... Joe and Joy Baisch Brinnon, WA.
