William "Bill" Medford's Obituary
William Roger "Bill" Medford, age 61, of Lewes, DE passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 15, 1953 in Federalsburg, MD, son of the late Roger N. and Henrietta N. (Rumbley) Medford.
Bill graduated from Colonel Richardson High School and furthered his education attending Chesapeake College and Towson State College. He enjoyed a lengthy career as a Senior Systems Analyst first working with Medford Petroleum. Soon after he would join Delaware Tanks Lines; Rollins/Matlack; General Electric Aerospace, Martin Marietta and most recently Lockheed Martin Corporation in Valley Forge, PA. Bill was a dedicated employee who was passionate about the projects he was part of. His co-workers loved him and enjoyed learning from Bill, who eagerly shared his wisdom and knowledge with others.
Bill was an accomplished Scuba Diver and earned a black belt in Bushin Kai Karate. He most enjoyed spending time with his family traveling to Bermuda or cruising. Bill was a lifelong avid boater and shipwreck diver. He loved his wife Robin unconditionally, always looking forward to Friday date night with her. He was also a very proud father to his only daughter Cassandra and new son-in-law Zachary who were married in his home this past year, granting him the opportunity to give her away. Bill was the Patriarch of the family, never losing his positive attitude, even through his illness. He was the one family and friends turned to for words of encouragement and support when life looked tough. Bill was a friend to many and loved by those whose hearts he touched. His unconditional love and support will be missed by all.
Bill is survived by his wife of 27 years, who would have celebrated his anniversary on the day of his passing, Robin Medford; his daughter, Cassandra Mitchell and her husband Zachary; two sisters, Priscilla Medford; Pamela Epprecht and her husband Michael; his beloved feline companions, Pepper and Mo and his grand feline, Rizzo.
