William J. Lovell, age 91, of Swarthmore, PA and Ocean View, DE passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 20, 2023. He was born in Clayton, GA, on February 13, 1932, son of the late Elijah Lovell and Della Mae Coleman Read Obituary
I thoroughly enjoyed the precious time I was privileged enough to spend with this wonderful man. He is extremely funny, honest, very wise, and as his oldest son would describe him...very practical. His passion for those things and people he loves was never hidden. I will forever cherish the memories I have of hanging out in his garage with him as he tinkered with his latest project, or just sitting and talking with him about life and love. He loves his family beyond measure, and was always so proud to discuss with me the photos he kept on display in his beautiful home. I have not met a more family oriented man in my entire life. His love for his 'beautiful bride', children, and grandchildren would make his blue eyes sparkle as he reminisced about days gone by, or spoke of their current accomplishments. My only regret is not having more time in life to listen to his fascinating stories, which made me both laugh and cry. This world truly needs more men like him. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all his loved ones at this difficult time. I know you will carry on his legacy daily. Your role model taught you well. 💙 Light up the Heavens with your beautiful smile, and loving spirit, Mr. Lovell. I miss you, and love you dearly. Thank you for the lessons you taught me. "Mr. Lovell" was a wonderful and amazing man. The Lovell's were dear friends of my parents, and we spent years living next to their family at the beach. There are simply too many memories to share, but I will hold him close to my heart for the rest of my days. Thoughts and prayers to John, Linda, and Billy, you did an amazing job!
