William Samuel Lofland's Obituary
William Samuel Lofland, 84, of Milton Delaware, passed away on March 27, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
Bill was born on 6/24/39 to Willis Marvel Lofland and Sophia Elizabeth Lofland in Quantico Maryland.
Bill attended Lewes High School. Bill spent most of his career as owner/operator/mechanic at Lofland’s Mobil in Lewes, DE. In 1954 Bill started dating Sue and they were married on 3/17/62. They went on to have two children, Mary Fazio, and Brenda Hudson. He was predeceased by his parents, and 5 siblings, Willis Lofland, Ruth Card, Gary Lofland, Steve Lofland, and Kenny Lofland.
He is survived by Mary Lofland (Sue), Mary Fazio (Pete), Brenda Hudson (Keith), grandchildren, Katelyn Downs, Ryan Downs, Gabrielle Parks (Mike), Leslie Fazio, four great grandchildren and his Redman family.
Bill loved his Phillies and Eagles. He was an avid trap shooter earlier in life and was on the DE state team many times. He also won many events. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to garden and especially growing Early Girl tomatoes. The slots at Ocean Downs were a favorite. Bill never met a stranger and would talk to anyone about anything.
Funeral Services will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes 16961 Kings Highway Lewes Delaware 19958 on Tuesday, April 2, at 11:00am. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park. 28787 Lockerman Rd, Milton Delaware.
