William Farr Holtzclaw Sr.'s Obituary

William Farr Holtzclaw Sr., age 80 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes. He was born on September 3, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late William H. and Irma M. (Farr) Holtzclaw.
Mr. Holtzclaw was a Virginia Tech Graduate, Class of 1962, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. He built a respectable career working for companies such as Owens Corning, Justin Tanks in Ohio and then in Georgetown, from which he retired after more than 30 dedicated years. After retirement he started Holtec and worked as a consultant for the remainder of his life. Mr. Holtzclaw was a member of Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI), ASTM, Chairman of Composites Institute (1991), and the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) where he received the President's Award in 2007, as well as the Rehoboth Beach Country Club, where he was a past president (2001-2003) during the construction of the 19th hole bar which he called "Billy's Bar". He was an avid golfer, a loyal Bengals fan, and a respected member of his community. Above all, Mr., Holtzclaw was a family man who cherished time spent with his loved ones. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Holtzclaw is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith A. Holtzclaw of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his son, Butch Holtzclaw (Meggin) of Rehoboth Beach, DE; his grandchildren: Polly and Peyton; and his brother, Woodrow Holtzclaw of Richmond, VA.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, Januray 24, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Rusty Rudder, Dewey Beach, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Holtzclaw's memory to the American Lung Association, 55 West Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
