William Henning's Obituary
William W. Henning, Sr., age 90, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 11, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Henning was born March 11, 1917 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late William F. and Ruth (Lingopelt) Henning.
Mr. Henning, a veteran of WWII, retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. He also retired after 30 years of service to the State of Delaware last serving as the Personnel Director at the Stockley Center. He was a faithful member of St. George's Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Rehoboth Beach Country Club. Mr. Henning loved to golf and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, A. Christine Henning; three sons, William W. Henning, Jr. of Lewes, John D. Henning of Lewes, and Larry Henning and wife Kathy of Eagle, WI; and two granddaughters, Anna and Carrie Henning.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2007, 11 A.M., at St. George's Episcopal Chapel, 20322 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson, DE followed by interment at All Saints Episcopal Cemetery, adjacent to St. George's Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947 or to St. George's Episcoapl Chapel, c/o All Saints Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Street, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
