William H. Haysel's Obituary
William H. Haysel Jr., age 76, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Brookhaven, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born in Roxboro, NC, on Sunday, May 17, 1936, son of the late William H. Sr. and Myrtle (Barnett) Haysel.
Mr. Haysel honorably served his country in the US Army; he was a man of great knowledge who taught many but never stopped learning from others. He graduated from Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD with a Bachelors of Arts degree and from Cheney University in Cheney, PA with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mr. Haysel completed his educational journey graduating from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA with his Master’s degree. He worked 32 years as the teaching administrator at Shoemaker Middle School, Philadelphia until retirement in 1993. He then began a second career with Hertz Rental Cars in Philadelphia and Milford, DE until 2009. Mr. Haysel was a man of strong faith and very active in his church, he taught Sunday school for many years. He was a passionate fisherman and always knew when and where the fish were biting. Mr. Haysel was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Haysel was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Velma Haysel in 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Antoinette “Toni” R. (Brown) Haysel; his two sons: William Austin Haysel and his wife Deidrea of Townsend, DE and Maximillion Thomas Haysel of Brookhaven, PA; his daughter, Shalon Angelique Watts and her husband Anthony of West Chester, PA; and two grandchildren: Naomi and Austin Haysel.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church of Lewes, 1001 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lewes “Building Fund”, 1001 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE19958.
