Patti and family,
I was deeply sorry to hear of Bill's passing. On behalf of the entire U. S. Naval Academy class of 1966, please accept our sincere condolences.
Bill was a treasured member of a great class which made the world a safer place.
Born in the cauldron of the cold war we saw that struggle though to final victory, bringing freedom to millions. In the process we were there when the cold war turned hot in Viet Nam. Our class lost more killed in action in that war than any other Naval Academy class (indeed, of any class since 1945). As you will especially appreciate, we have lost many more from the unforeseen effects of that war.
You and your family played a key role in all of that, moving around the country and - indeed, around the world - and supporting a father who was about the nation's most serious business.
For all that and more, thank you!! May God bless you all and give you His peace.
Very respectfully with warmest regards,
Scott
