William "Jim" Bretz's Obituary
William “Jim” J. Bretz, age 80, of Millsboro, DE passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 30, 1933, son of the late Harry and Theresa (Holland) Bretz.
Mr. Bretz proudly served his country with the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He resided most of his lifetime in the Delaware and Chester counties of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bretz was self-employed as an HVAC contractor and enjoyed many years serving his clients. He and his wife, Dorothy, relocated to Sussex County seven years ago. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bretz was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dorothy nee Cugini; 3 sons, Robert Bretz and Daniel Bretz of Delaware County, PA and William Bretz of Millsboro, DE; 1 daughter, Maureen Bretz and her fiancé Alvin L. Aubinoe III of Potomac, MD; 6 grandchildren, Brian Bretz-Sciarra; Brandon Bretz-Sciarra; Amanda Bretz; JR Dively; Angela Dively and Nicholas Dively; 5 great-grandchildren, Ella Maria, Noah, Sophia, Xavier and Leoni; 1 sister and his devoted canine companion, Pugs Lee.
Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Mr. Bretz’s memory.
