Wilbur Sheriff's Obituary
Wilbur Sheriff, Jr., 70, of Lewes, Delaware passed away on Thursday, February 23rd after bravely battling cancer. He was born September 19, 1941 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Junior was a veteran of the US Army and a retired heavy duty equipment mechanic from Groff Tractor & Equipment.
He and his wife, Barbara A. Sheriff recently celebrated their 30 year anniversary on February 14th. Junior was a loving and devoted husband. He was a friend to all, always putting other’s needs before his own. He enjoyed the outdoors - loving nothing more than taking his dogs for walks, and going boating and fishing out on the bay. He was strong to the end and never stopped living even while he was fighting cancer. While he was too humble to realize it, he helped lead those around him to be better people through quiet example. Junior will be missed by all who loved him and everyone who ever had the chance to meet him.
In addition to his wife, Barbara A. Sheriff, he is survived by his daughters: Robin Emig and Cindy Ambrose; his sons: Michael Emig and Jack.William Emig; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister Allie Myers; one niece; and two great-nephews, He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur Sheriff, Sr. and Elizabeth Sheriff and his much beloved dog Jack.
