Wendy C. McQuaide's Obituary
Wendy Camille Clineff McQuaide, 62, of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Born on September 6, 1963, in Frankfurt, Germany, Wendy was the beloved daughter of Rita T. Wilbraham and the late William Arthur Clineff, Jr., a Lieutenant in the United States Army Engineer Corps. Shortly after her birth, her family relocated to Wilmington, Delaware and finally Newark, Delaware, where she was raised and built lifelong memories.
A graduate of Christiana High School, Class of 1982, Wendy went on to study dental laboratory technology at Hodgson Vo-Tech. She pursued a varied and fulfilling career that included work at Sposato Dental in Elkton, MD, the USA Training Academy, and, most notably, at Christiana Hospital, where she served as a Unit Clerk for over 15 years. Wendy was known by colleagues and patients alike for her warmth, diligence, and kind-hearted nature.
Wendy was a creative soul with a zest for life. She loved to paint, garden, and spend time outdoors, marveling at birds and local wildlife. Her spirit was adventurous and free—she was wild at heart, a night owl, and someone who never wanted the fun to end. Whether she was out dancing or simply enjoying the company of friends and family, Wendy brought light and laughter wherever she went. She found joy in the small things—beautiful blooms, music, and time spent in reflection and celebration.
She was a longtime member of the American Legion post 28.
A woman of great compassion and unwavering optimism, Wendy always looked for the good in others. She found peace and spiritual connection attending Sunrise Baptist Church in Berlin, MD, drawn especially to the music and fellowship.
Wendy is preceded in death by her father, William A. Clineff, Jr.; her grandparents, Frank and Margaret Trebolis and Olga (Bukay) and William Clineff, Sr.; her aunt, Frances Trebolis Major; her uncle, Eugene Trebolis; and her beloved furry companions, Scooter and Juliet, who no doubt welcomed her with wagging tails and warm purrs.
She is survived by her loving mother, Rita T. Wilbraham; her devoted siblings, William A. Clineff, III(companion Dawn Little);Christina Heron (Jerald); her cherished niece, Kaylie White (Bryson); her special friends, Rod Jones and Jim Thomas; her faithful cat, Jingles; and a wide circle of cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
