Warren Gil Bagnatori's Obituary
Warren Gil Bagnatori, age 70 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Christiana Health Care Systems in Newark, DE. He was born on May 24th, 1947, son of the late Giulio "Gil" Bruno Bagnatori and Vera Louise (Gregg) Bagnatori.
Warren grew up in Wilmington, DE. He graduated from Brandywine High School, Class of 1965. A proud United States Navy veteran, Warren enlisted shortly after high school and honorably served in the Vietnam War from 1967-1969. He was also proud to be a part of the Tin Can Sailors while serving aboard the USS Allen M. Sumner. After attending classes at UCLA, Warren returned to Delaware and began a lifelong career in construction. His skill, dedication, and professionalism earned him the respect and admiration of everyone in the local industry. Warren was a member of, and held several offices at American Legion Post 5, as well as VFW 7447, both located in Rehoboth Beach, DE. He loved fishing and gardening, and being a carpenter at heart, woodworking was one of his favorite past times. Although Warren was not an avid traveler, he completely enjoyed the cruise to Alaska that he and his wife Ginni took for their honeymoon in May of 2004. He joked about getting married a day before his birthday so he would never forget anniversaries. Ginni often said it took a long time to find Warren, but he was her soulmate. Above all, he most cherished the times he spent with his family and close friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was loved and respected by many, and he will be deeply and genuinely missed by all of those who knew him well.
In addition to his mother, Vera Gregg Bagnatori, Warren is survived by his beloved wife Carrie "Ginni" (Elliott) Bagnatori; his sons: Erin Bagnatori and Kyle Bagnatori; his grandson Gabriel Warren Bagnatori; his sisters: Sandy O'Neill, Bonny Krause, Vicky Miller, and Vera Coleman; his former wife and mother of his sons, Mary Ann Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM, at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
