Walter W. Taylor's Obituary
Walter W. Taylor, Jr., age 62, of Lincoln, DE, passed away Monday, November 17, 2008, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born November 3, 1946 in Salem, NJ to Walter W. Taylor, Sr. of Virginia and the late Lillian (Abendschoen) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor retired from the DuPont Company as a chemical operator after 36 years and retired to the beach, where he worked the night shift at Cape Henlopen State Park campgrounds in the summers. He served two tours of duty in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, American Legion New Jersey Post # 0297, a lifetime member of VFW Post # 3257 in Wilmington, Loyal Order of the Moose in Milford, a Punkin' Chunkin' volunteer, and loved walking with his dogs.
In addition to his father, Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 25 years, Phyllis B. Taylor; two sons: James Taylor and Michael Taylor; daughter Sharon Taylor; step daughter, Victoria Holt and her husband Gilbert Holt, Jr. of Lewes, DE; brother, David Taylor and his wife Lorraine of Virginia; grandson, Shane Murphy; and granddaughter, Amanda Mason.
A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Entombment will be Friday, November 21 at 2:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
