Walter Michael Stanton Jr.'s Obituary
Walter Michael Stanton, Jr., age 70, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Bayhealth Center – Kent Campus in Dover, DE.
Born on May 25, 1955, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of Mary (O’Malley) Stanton and the late Walter Michael Stanton, Sr.
Walter enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a National Sales Manager in the food manufacturing industry before retiring. Known for his work ethic and reliability, he left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.
In his well-earned retirement, Walter embraced his passions — fishing, collecting and operating Lionel trains, and playing golf. He found joy in the simple pleasures and shared many memorable moments with family and friends over the years.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Ann Stanton; his sisters, Theresa McCarthy (Bill) of New York, and their children Elizabeth (Jeff) and Kate; and Christine Forman (Dave) of Massachusetts, along with their children Megan and Carrie. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Rick Fogarty; (Catherine); nieces Nancy (Will) and Tara (Dan); and grand-niece and nephew, June and Patrick.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958, where family and friends may gather beginning at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Walter's memory be made to a charity of your choice.
