I looked forward to seeing Turk every Wednesday when he would come to the Legion to play bridge. He'd have a cup of black coffee and enjoy the bridge club. He was always pleasant and had an air about him that just let you know he was someone very special. In reading the thoughts below I've come to understand just a bit of how special. The world is clearly a better place because of him and his legacy that lives on. I am honored to have served him.
Uncle Turk is the best man to have ever lived. He was always happy. Always making you laugh. We would play board games together, and he was so smart. He knew so much about so many things. He had the patience of a saint. I love him so much. I am going to miss him.
The world is worse with out him in it.
My love and prayers are with his family. I am so truly sorry for your loss.
Turk's grand daughter is and always will be the best title I will ever carry. To know him was to love him is an understatement. I don't even think you had to know him personally to realize the man he was. Life without him will be difficult but as long as he is in my memory and in my heart I know I can accomplish anything life has in store for me. I have too many memories to share. I love you Poppop. Always and forever.
Condolences to Joan and Turk's family. I didn't know Turk long, but he left a lasting impression with me. He taught me the "suicide bid" in bridge. Rest in Peace.
Turk and Joan made our living in Maryland a happier time. They included us in their family as we did with them.
May Turk be reunited with Karyn in the heaven they will share.
