Walter B. Douglas' Obituary
Walter B. Douglas, age 82, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Hartsdale, NY, passed away Monday, October 8, 2007, at Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. He was born August 8, 1925 in Manhattan, NY, son of the late Bernard and Estele (Bergemini) Douglas.
Mr. Douglas was General Manager of several automobile dealerships in New York for over 50 years. He was an avid sailor and fisherman. He loved all animals. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He was a beloved husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Janet E. Douglas; a son Kenneth Douglas; and a brother, Raymond Douglas. He is survived by his wife Janet B. (Scarpati) Douglas; his daughter, Sara-Jean Douglas of Lewes; two sons, Ned Rogan of Wilkes-Barre, PA and Jeffrey Douglas of Greensboro, NC; and five grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 3, 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hartsdale, NY followed by interment at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale. Friends may call at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY on Friday, November 2, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
