Walter Isaac Diller's Obituary

Walter (Walt) I. Diller, age 78 of Millsboro, DE and formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away suddenly on Thursday November 8, 2018 at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE. He was born on May 6, 1940 in Shiremanstown, PA, son of the late Boyd E. and Sara E. Diller.
Walt attended Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, PA. He worked for Boyd E. Diller, Inc. as a vice president. He also was the president of "Cumberland Valley Land Clearing, Inc. and Cumberland Valley Drilling and Blasting, Inc. As a licensed blaster Walt always said he had a blast of a day. He retired in 2012 and moved to Millsboro, DE
His greatest joy came from sharing time with his family, along with attending and cheering for Penn State Football games. Walt also loved fishing and crabbing in Indian River Bay with his family and friends. He outfished everybody. He was a member of the West Shore Elks #2257 in Mechanicsburg, PA.
In addition to his parents, Walt was preceded in death by his brother, Elvin B. Diller and his sister, Ruth M. Apa. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma Diller of Millsboro, DE; his daughter, Tammy Drawbaugh and her husband Jeff of Mechanicsburg, PA; his granddaughters: Dr. Stephanie Miller and her husband Thomas of Pittsburgh, PA and Shannon Barnett of Philadelphia, PA; his grandson, Kyle Barnett of California; his great-grandson, Jackson Isaac Miller; his brother, John L. Diller of Enola, PA; and his several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4 West Main Street, New Kingston, PA, where friends may visit beginning at 1:00 PM.
