At 46 years old I can honestly say I have had three men in my life that have an influential role. My father Keith, my grandfather Pa, and my Uncle Wally. I could provide a long list of memories, but I will leave it to one.
I was probably 12 years old at the time and Uncle Wally and Aunt Betty visited us in Florida. I had a book report due for school and like most kids, I did not care to read. Uncle Wally made a deal with me that if I read a book and wrote a paper on it he would give me $5.00 for every report. I started the reading, but the writing never came to fruition. For the last 25 + years I have read on average one book a week and every time I open those pages for the first time, I think of my Uncle Wally. He truly opened my eyes to getting lost in the pages.
You will always be an inspiration to me, love you and will forever miss you. Say hi to Dad and Pa for me.
