I'm unsure Karen if you will remember me but, my name is Doris Best-Kroeger. I'm from Lewes and remember both you and Bob. I'm Doris Albert's niece and she knew you both well. She was a RN at Beebe for her whole life and she worked with Bob. I also worked at Beebe for years, left for other RN positions in my career then returned to Beebe. I'm so sorry for your lifetime friend and love loss! It's so hard when our loved one is gone but, look forward to the day when you will meet again in paradise:) I send my condolences to you and your family!
Mr. Steele, Mrs. Steele and the Hudson family have been huge supporters of the students, parents, and staff of H. O. Brittingham Elementary. I personally have seen this family show love, compassion, and the need to protect to all of our students. Mr. Steele has raised an exemplarily family. The values and morals that he and Mrs. Steele have instilled in their personal family and the family of School Mule is simply incredible. I have worked with this family for nine years and I have always known the to go above and beyond measures to care for the family of H. O. Brittingham. Mr. Steele was a strong, dedicated, hard working man and everyone around him could see and feel the love he had for his wife Karen Steele and his family. My prayer was that God would protect him and keep him in his care. God did just that and I know he is still caring for him now that he has his ANGEL wings. Mr. Steele was truly an angel. He will be greatly missed. May God continue to strengthen Mrs. Steele and the family. To know this family is to know love. They have supported me in my personal life and they have been a back bone to my ability to be able to transport our students.
To My friend Darby-I am just a call away and I will continue to keep you in prayers as the months go on.
Love and Prayers,
Katina
We are saddened beyond words that this sweet, kind, special man is gone from our lives. What wonderful memories we have of him and his sense of humor...oh, the emails that went back and forth. Some serious and spiritual, and some that only he knew we would enjoy and appreciate. He was a business owner and boss, but more than that, he was a friend. We share your sadness Karen, Darby & Jim and Shaughnessy. He fought a gallant fight and is now at peace. Much love to all of you ~ Dick and Lu Fair
I just read j.d.Taylor's post, how true! I was the new contractor at Sussex tech & bob called me to congratulate me.that meant alot. HE always told me a story about the time he helped my mom with a broken front door on a brand new bus. We would see him & Karen at the diner alot , he would stop & tell some humorous story. He was a good man ,will be missed by many. Alan Mills
Our deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Bob Steele who over the years had become a very dear friend. We were very saddened by the news of his illness and the grim prognosis but knew he would fight it with all his will power. We will miss his smile and always positive demeanor. R.I.P.

When I became the Transportation Supervisor at Sussex Tech needles to say there was a lot to learn. Mr. Steele was always there and was willing to offer asked for advice. I know that he was such a fine person in that when there was a new route in the Milford area and School Mule did not get that route, Mr. Steele called the person who got the route and offered any assistance that might me needed. I, too, would see he and his wife at the local diner and he always had a welcoming smile.
