Virginia L. Johnson's Obituary
Virginia "Ginny" L. Johnson age 89, of Greenwood, DE, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Delaware Hospice Center of Milford, DE after battling a brief illness. She was born in Federalsburg, MD, on Wednesday, February 13, 1935, to the late William E. and Marian A. Robinson (Adams).
Ginny graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1953 and married the love of her life Teddie Johnson on Valentines Day of 1974. She made a career working in the Department of Defense for over 30 years, which she greatly enjoyed. Ginny loved gardening, spending time at the beach, camping in her RV and doing word searches. What gave her the greatest enjoyment was spending time with her friends and family and caring for her pets. Ginny was a kind and generous soul and will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her.
In addition to her parents Ginny is preceded in death by her daughter Cheryl Dobson. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Teddie Johnson; daughters Nancy Signs of Kentucky, Barbara Burdette of Greenwood, DE; grandsons Bill Dennis (Kim) of Greenwood, DE, Eric Burdette (Wendy) of Bridgeville, DE, Shane Burdette (Mindy) of Salisbury, MD, and Joey Burdette (Emmalee) of Laurel, DE; great-grandchildren Billy Dennis of Greenwood, DE, Spencer Burdette (Oksana) of Newport News, VA, Colton and Kinslee Burdette of Laurel, DE; and great-great-grandchildren Drake and Peyton Dennis of Greenwood, DE.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends and family may begin arriving one hour prior to services. Burial will follow the Services at Bloomery Cemetery, 28085 Bloomery Road, Federalsburg, MD.
