Virginia M. Detwiler's Obituary
Virginia M. Detwiler, 87, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2009. She was born January 18, 1922 in Phoenixville, PA, daughter of the late Irvin and Mary (Cloney) Frizzell.
Mrs. Detwiler was a long standing member of St. Ann's Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William D. Detwiler, Sr. and two grandchildren, Heather Cassel and Robbie Cassel. She is survived by three sons: William D. Detwiler, Jr., James I. Detwiler and Michael F. Detwiler, Sr.; two daughters: Susan M. Markofski and Christina M. Iannelli; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers: James Frizzell and Thomas Frizzell; and two sisters: Anastasia Leber and Marie Yiaski.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2010, 11:00 AM, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 502 South Main Street, Phoenixville, PA. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund, 100 Commerce Street, Ste. 302, Newark, DE 19713 or to Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Ste. 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
