Virginia Bau's Obituary
Virginia Bau, age 82 of Lewes, DE, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Mohun Health Center in Columbus, OH. As an Associate of the Dominican Sisters of Peace she had volunteered at Mohun for many years. Virginia was a 35 year cancer survivor to which she finally succumbed. She was born in Flushing, NY on March 27, 1935.
Virginia attended St. Andrew's Grade School, Dominican Academy and Ohio Dominican College. She received Master's degrees from Notre Dame University and Hunter College.
After teaching English for more than 40 years, the last 25 of which were in the Morris Hills Regional District, NJ, she retired to Lewes in 1996.
Virginia then was a Hospice Volunteer for more than 15 years and a Eucharistic minister at St. Edmonds Church in Rehoboth Beach.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 12 noon at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. Private Interment will be held at St. Peter's Church Cemetery in Lewes at a later date.
Virginia is survived by her brother John; sister, Marion; nephew Joe Bizek; nieces, Marianne Bizek, Joanne Platt and Barbara Zigismondi; and many wonderful friends, especially Kathi Young, all of whom helped her through some very hard days.
