Mrs. Parsons was my Art Teacher at Downingtown Jr. H.S. I was a new student in the district and enjoyed her class so much. She was incredibly kind to me. She was the person who inspired me to become an art teacher and I have now been teaching art for 23 years. This year I was awarded the National Art Education Association Special Needs Art Teacher of the Year and wanted to honor Mrs. Parsons in my acceptance speech next month. Whenever my students ask me "Why did you become an art teacher?", she will always be my answer. My condolences to her family.

Ginnie Anne was the artistic member of the family, able to turn ordinary junk into wonderful things of beauty. She was always just so happy with life. i remember, when i lived with her for awhile, seeing her leaving the house late at night. i asked her where she was going and she said to the all night grocery. i asked her why at that time, she said because no one else was there and she could better plan the meals and snacks for us all.
