Virgil Cannon's Obituary
Virgil A. Cannon, age 89, of Bridgeville, DE passed away on Saturday December 8, 2007 at the Seaford Center in Seaford,DE. Mr. Cannon was born on February 26, 1918, in Bridgeville, DE, son of the late Philip A. Cannon and Nora (Willey) Cannon. He had worked as an Electrician in Field Maintenance for the DuPont Company for 40 years. He attended Concord United Methodist Church. Mr. Cannon was an Army Veteran of WWII and completed his service with an Air Corp Base Unit & was a member of the former American Legion Post 21. He assisted in many ways the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Dept. over the years. Fishing, crabbing, & clamming were very important to him and his family, and he especially enjoyed traveling, and sharing and showing his gas powered hit and miss
engines. He was predeceased by his wife M. Emily Cannon in 2003. He is survived by one Son-Steven C. Cannon and wife Heidi of Seaford, DE; Daughter-Rita Hovermale and husband Roger of Bridgeville, DE; Daughter-Janet Snyder & husband Larry, of Seaford, DE., Sister-Elnora C. Whiteley of Seaford, DE; Grandchildren-Stacey Cannon, Stephanie Cannon, Robyn Hovermale, Rachel Hovermale, Tiffany Snyder, Bradley Snyder. Funeral Services will be held at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium , Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 11:00AM with Rev. Diane Melson officiating. Burial will follow at the Bridgeville
